Heart of the Quilotoa Loop - Dayhiker's Paradise

Tourists and travelers love this area because it is in the middle of breathtaking high Andes beauty:  The Iliniza Ecological Reserve, the Rio Toachi Canyon, and Laguna Quilotoa are all easy to hike from the front door.

It’s a perfect location if you are a backpacker, tourist, traveler or on vacation.  It’s also a perfect place for a weeklong family event (wedding, anniversary or special birthday), yoga retreat, group team building, workshop or eco-training.

Here are Some of the Activities on offer:

Day hikes

From front door of the Black Sheep Inn you can choose a ton of hiking trails, with a huge variety of scenery and environment.   Within two hours walk you can reach 4 distinct climate zones.

Sauna and hot tub

The Sauna and Hot Tub are woodfired; both are heated by a specially designed woodstove.

Indigenous markets

Andean tradition thrives in this area and local markets provide many opportunities to observe how people have been trading for thousands of years.

Horseback riding

Riding horses with a local native guide is a great way to take in the landscape.  You can walk or gallop across the high paramo, descend steeply into the canyon, or take a relaxing ride out onto the plateu.

Yoga - massage

In 2008 we completed our yoga studio — a bright, open space with hardwood floors and plenty of windows for natural light.

Black Sheep Inn offers a great way to relax after a long day hiking.

Local workshop tours

You may be bargaining for a poncho, fresh fruit and produce, fried bread, or a rope to tie your brand new llama, or better yet buy two!

We work hard to make the Black Sheep Inn more than just a beautiful lodge.  Our ecological conservation projects have won many awards.
